Instructor: Marni Elyse Katz
Thursday, August 14
1pm - 4pm
1 session

This course is for artists (or non-artists!) who have at least a basic understanding of Instagram and aim to build their business by sharing their work. It will help you find your groove and up presence.  We will run through the basics: content formats within the Instagram universe and how best to use them, tagging users, geo-tagging, and finding audio. We’ll also work on strengthening your profile page and connecting with like-minded users. Instagram is about storytelling. We’ll explore content categories for artists, evaluating which best support your mission. Crafting compelling and searchable captions help attract and retain an audience too. We’ll discuss honing your identity, determining who you want to reach, and finding the right tone.  In addition to exploratory discussions, this workshop provides hands-on exercises. You will leave with a better profile page, ideas for content, an arsenal of keywords, and maybe even a content calendar. If there’s time, we’ll touch on scheduling and the analytics behind your account.

Come with your mobile device (I use an iPhone) and an Instagram account already set up. Also, note five accounts you admire. This course if for those with a decent facility on and a desire to create content you can share with the world.
